Fine Art
& Stock Photography
Fine Art? I've seen several
definitions of Fine Art, but I guess the one that I find the most
appropriate is a work that I would be happy to frame and hang on my
wall. I've included a selection here that might, in fact a few do,
grace my walls at home, but of course we all have different tastes
and if you would like your favourite scene, object, pet etc given
the creative touch, then I would be only too happy to do it for you.
I have many years experience of
software manipulation of digital images, but more recently have been
excited by the possibilities afforded by 'Painter' programs. Some of
the images here have been digitally 'painted' using the original
photograph as a base. But this is not an automatic computer process,
each 'brush' stroke is applied individually by hand and can take
many hours, but when printed to canvas these can look deceptively
authentic works of art. Look out for the bridal and grandparent
portraits, the dogs and horserace images for examples of images
manipulated in this way.
High Dynamic Range (HDR) imagery is
another new technique that can produce fascinating results. It's a
technique that combines three or more images, shot at different
exposures, to bring up the shadow areas and give an even exposure to
the overall image. Several of the landscapes here have been treated
this way.
I do subscribe to one of the better
stock photography agencies, Alamy, and a selection of images are
available for purchase there for licenced print use, please click on
the Alamy logo below to view those currently available. If you'd
like one of these images framed however, I would of course be only
too happy to supply it.
